Geometry 2D / 3D

 

The OPUS geometry module provides all functions for a "sate of the art" CAM software.

This module includes 2D and 3D importing functions as well as manipulating 2D and 3D data.

It is able to do the construction of complex parts as well as generating hole patterns, contours, etc.

The geometries (2D and 3D) can be used for tools, parts, blanks, clamping devices, sketches, tool pathes, etc.

CAD-Data import

The designed work-pieces in the CAD software can be imported into the OPUS CAM software. So you don't have to create the contours which are necessary for the NC operations again. But you can always manipulate the imported contours, in case the data is corrupt or not correct or you just have to change a radius or more.

During the import of 2D CAD files you can use a filter method to collect elements of specific layers, colours, etc. So you can minimize the imported elements to get a better overview.

Important workpiece zero points can always be changed afterwards.

Supported formats are: DXF, DWG, IGES 2D, A11, PIC (CADdy), MI (ME10 - HP), ...

 

CAD-Data import (3D)

 

OPUS 3D is based on the ACIS-3D-Kernel from Spatial and makes it possible to realize a fast and simple import of 3D faces and bodies. From the imported bodies you can select and measure contours, holes and corresponding depths. It is also possible to manipulate the bodies in OPUS (Bool operations, intersections, transformations, ...).

The Solidworks Plug-In allows you to export a feature file with relevant drill hole data like position, direction, type of hole, diameter, depths, etc.

With these informations the generation of drill holes is fairly easy and can be done by an automatical process.
